"Obama Doesn’t Pander to Teacher’s Union, Supports Merit Pay"

Barack Obama today unlike other Democratic candidates speaking to the National Education Association said that he supported merit pay and wanted to work with teachers on making it work. Merit pay is unpopular among unions, so it wasn’t the popular thing to say. NBC reports that because of the way Obama framed it though, he didn’t get booed but rather got light applause.
